My name is Louis, and I own and operate Brookside Home Inspection and Property Consultant. I have lived in the Northeast Kingdom for the majority of my life.  My hobbies include woodworking, home repairs, mountain biking, and skiing. After graduating from St. Johnsbury Academy, I attended school in Georgia and completed training as an electrical line worker. I lived and worked in Northern Virginia for seven years before returning to Vermont. I’ve been in the construction and electrical trades for nearly 20 years.

As a homeowner, I understand the importance of quality construction and having a safe home for your family. In addition to my home inspection and property management business, I work as an electrical line worker throughout the Northeast. I understand the stresses that our weather in the Northeast puts on a home and the importance of having a professional home inspection.

While I am new to the home inspection industry, I am an 8th generation Vermonter, making me very familiar with the area, the climate and the needs of a cold climate home. I joined the US Army at 17 years of age and served as a Military Police officer. I was stationed at Fort Campbell, KY and served a 12-month tour in Mosul, Iraq in 2004-2005. After my time in the service, I started my own maple supply business in Michigan for approximately 10 years before returning home to Vermont. During my time in the maple industry, I worked with the Veteran Farmer Coalition, which is an organization dedicated to helping combat veterans find purpose and peace in agriculture. While operating my business, I worked towards earning a Bachelor's degree in Psychology from Pennsylvania State University, graduating with honors in 2011. I then proceeded to graduate with honors from Northeastern University with a degree in Education focusing on curriculum development and course design. I have always had a place in my heart to serve and protect, which led me to become a Deputy Sherrif in the Florida Keys for a few years. I graduated from the Florida Keys College Law Enforcement program with the highest academic score of my class and also the Leadership award as the class captain. While I loved this job, I was homesick for my native state of Vermont and returned home once again in 2023 and began working as a manager for healthcare security.  While I have done an assortment of things in my life, I have never given less than 100% in anything. Integrity, honesty, hard work and dedication have been my driving force and will continue to be the foundation of my work ethics.
