I was born and raised in St. Johnsbury, VT. Generations of my family before me were also proud born & raised Vermonters. I graduated from St. Johnsbury Academy in 2007. From there, I went to Lyndon State College and graduated with a B.S. in Business Administration and a minor in Marketing. It was during my college years that I began to unfold my genuine curiosity about Real Estate as an investment, thanks to a couple of elective courses I took while attending LSC. College years were busy for me: I got married, my husband was deployed to Iraq, we bought our first house, and I helped start Kingdom Gymnastics all while also working at UPS. As years passed, we upgraded our home doing what just felt like "fun" projects for two young & creative homeowners. Those upgrades increased the value of our home, and it was then that I remembered from my college classes, how to utilize that "equity" to further us. We shopped for the right income property using Parkway's Patty Emery as our agent. We bought our first 2-unit apartment building using the equity we had built from our first home as the down payment. As the years passed, we decided we also wanted to flip a house, so we shopped some more. The house that we fell in love with was too much of a project to do while also living in our own home, so we decided to rent our home out and move into our "flip house" (with our 6 & 3 year olds... crazy idea). We got to the point that owning an apartment building was too much for us with both being otherwise self-employed, flipping a house & having two young kids. We had improved the building, raised rents appropriately, and overall added value so we were excited to be able to cash in some of our hard work to put towards more Real Estate investments. At the closing for that apartment building, I was re-introduced to Agent Maurice Chaloux, who was representing the buyer. Maurice, Patty and I stayed in touch, and I was invited to join their team at Parkway Realty. During this time, the world shut down due to the Coronavirus... so I studied for my course online and got my Real Estate License in July of 2020, fully expecting to not be able to do much with it because of Coronavirus. Boy, was I wrong. I went from being a full time gymnastics coach & gym manager to a full time Real Estate Agent & "part time" gymnastics coach because of the instant hustle & bustle of the Real Estate Market at that time. In 2021, I purchased Parkway Realty with my business partner, Connie Sleath. I am so excited to foster new relationships, and adapt to the ever changing world in a way that only brings Parkway Realty to be an even greater service to this community than it already was.
